Cancoin

Verifications are very important to ensure transparency when buying and selling bitcoins. You want to be assured that your trading partner is who they say they are. That is why it is recommended to verify yourself multiple ways using your Cancoin account.

During the Beta period, Cancoin offers email and SMS verifications. Verifications are displayed on your public profile, and buy or sell listings can be set to only allow orders from users with certain verification requirements.

When you signed up for your Cancoin account, you should have received a welcome email asking for you to verify your email address. If you did not receive this email, see below for verification steps.

 

To verify your email address:

  1. Login and navigate to Account Settings > Verifications
  2. In the ‘Email’ section, either enter your email address and click ’Send’, or click the ‘Resend verification email’ button
  3. You will receive an email with a secure link to verify your email
  4. Click the link to verify your email address
 

To verify your SMS phone number:

  1. Login and navigate to Account Settings > Verifications
  2. In the ‘SMS’ section, enter your phone number (format: +15554443333) and click ‘Submit’
  3. Enter the 6 digit pin code that was sent via SMS to the phone number that you supplied and click ‘Submit’
 

In the near future, Cancoin will introduce Social and other 3rd party verifications to further enhance the transparency and trust associated with buying and selling bitcoins in the Marketplace.

These verifications will include but not be limited to:

  • Localbitcoins verifications
  • Facebook verifications
  • Twitter verifications
  • Google+ verifications
  • Github verifications
